About the Project
Hello! We are a team of researchers interested in how communities are claiming a voice in relation to governing research that impacts them. We have conducted a scoping review investigating the strategies used by communities to have a say in research oversight, the demands they make, and the justifications they offer, as well as the benefits and challenges they face in doing this work. We are currently writing up the results to share publicly and freely, as well as to publish in academic journals. We hope they will inspire other communities to develop their own strategies and share their expertise when it comes to protecting and promoting beneficial research in their communities.

The project is funded by a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
